University Park, PA – The Penn State Center for Agricultural and Shale Law (CASL) hosted three informative webinars in July 2025, continuing its mission to educate agricultural stakeholders and legal professionals.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Staff Attorney Jackie Schweichler presented “Opening the Farm Gates: ADA Accessibility for Agritourism Guests,” hosted by the North American Farmers’ Direct Marketing Association (NAFDMA). This session covered ADA application to agritourism, general business requirements, and strategies for inclusivity. Key topics included service animals and emotional support animals (definitions, on-farm standards, guest interaction), along with physical barriers, digital accessibility, and funding for ADA updates.

Next, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, CASL held its Quarterly Dairy Legal Webinar, focusing on 2025 Federal Milk Marketing Order Reforms. Presented by Staff Attorney, Brook Duer, this free webinar delved into the recent Federal Milk Marketing Order final rule (90 FR 6600), effective June 1, 2025, with specific pricing provisions (class prices, component prices, and advanced pricing factors) effective December 1, 2025. It also updated dairy professionals on recent U.S. dairy industry legal developments and offered 1 hour of substantive PACLE credit for Pennsylvania-licensed attorneys.

The month concluded on Friday, July 25, 2025, with Jackie Schweichler presenting “Understanding the Basics of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance for Agritourism Operations.” This program, part of the Understanding Agricultural Law Educational Series in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s (PDA) Agricultural Business Development Center (ABDC), targeted attorneys and business advisors. It discussed ADA requirements for farmers opening their operations to the public, focusing on physical, audio/visual, and digital accessibility, plus legal obligations concerning service animals and emotional support animals. 1 hour of substantive PACLE credit was also available for Pennsylvania-licensed attorneys.

These July 2025 webinars underscore CASL’s dedication to providing vital legal education to support Pennsylvania’s agricultural community.
